Come along in an escape from patriarchy when Thelma and Louise drives off in a limousine with you in the back seat. In this rolling interactive, intimate performance mixed with VR technology we move through a geographical and gender political borderland. An epic road trip where you will also be treated to food and drink – but don’t forget your passport!

#thelmatoo is a satirical virtual reality car show that moves across national borders. Using site specific scenes and virtual reality it places the audience in the middle of a dystopian future, in part inspired by Ridley Scott’s iconic Hollywood film.

In this co-production between Bombina Bombast and danish Sydhavn Teater the audience gets to follow along when Thelma and Louise escapes the patriarchal Denmark over the Öresund bridge to the feminist Sweden.

Bombina Bombast is a performing arts company founded in 2011 in Sweden and led by Emma Bexell and Stefan Stanišić. Currently Malmö-based, the company explores the use of innovative technologies combined with performing arts, most notably virtual reality and theatre. Bombina Bombast has performed at among other Inkonst, Malmö; Kulturhuset Stadsteatern, Stockholm; Blaue Frau’s Pop Up Art House, Helsinki; Nanluoguxiang International Theatre Festival, Beijing; Experimental Room Festival, Barcelona; FestiBorg, Sarpsborg; HAUT, Copenhagen.
