Release concert with IDKA JAZZ

IDKA JAZZ was formed in the spring of 2017 and is a quartet that plays Ida Karlsson’s compositions.

The quartet’s genre is Nordic jazz with clear roots from the 1950s. Its inspiration sources are Lars Gullin, Dexter Gordon and other tenorists, as well as Ida’s own upbringing, choir singing, gospel music and Psalm book-inspired piano fiddling. The quartet alternates between fine-tuned harmonies and energetic swing, along with soft, heartfelt ballads and delirious solos.
