EMOM Scania – Electronic Music Open Mic #4 | FREE ENTRY
EMOM (Electronic Music Open Mic) is a grassroots movement started in England in 2017 by Martin Christie. The concept is simple: to provide a platform/stage for local electronic musicians where they can perform live. The event is open to everyone, regardless of the style of electronic music performed (e.g., ambient, techno, experimental, house, synth). The focus is on newcomers to the scene.
Take the opportunity to leave your home or bedroom studio for a while and come have a fun evening with other enthusiasts, hobby musicians, and electronic music lovers. This event is for anyone who wants to try playing live in a welcoming, supportive, inclusive and motivating environment. Synths, laptops, drum machines, grooveboxes, samplers, modular synths, gizmos, and gadgets of all sizes and colours — all are welcome!
EMOM is not just a series of live events; it’s also intended to grow into a community where participants and creative souls can network together.
We’ll talk about gear, music, production techniques; we’ll share ideas and make connections. Everyone is there to have fun, and there is no right or wrong—no risk of failure. If you don’t want to perform, you’re just as welcome to come watch, listen, and socialize.
EMOM #4 – April 16
We aim to have 8 artists, each with a maximum set time of 15 minutes, plus an additional 15 minutes of presentation time including changeover to the next artist. The event will also be streamed live on YouTube for an international audience.
If you are interested in performing at EMOM, please contact us at kontakt@emom.se.
Note that the final day to apply is Sunday, March 23!
Please include a short bio and a couple of tracks in the style you intend to perform. The music examples are solely so we can plan the evening’s acts into a pleasant flow for everyone. We make no artistic judgments; EVERYONE gets to play as time and space allow. However, note that the focus is on electronic music and compositions in its main form.
We will get back to you with the final lineup in early November. Be sure to follow us so you don’t miss any information.
Because alcohol will be sold, there is an 18+ age limit. However, there is no entry fee—it’s completely free for all visitors.
EMOM is organized in collaboration with INKONST and Elektrish Synthesizer Studio & Museum.
