A talk and workshop by Girts Ozolins, the founder of Latvia’s renowned synth manufacturer Erica Synths, talking about subtractive, additive, FM, phase distortion, granular, and physical modelling synthesis.
Girts Ozolins, the founder of Latvia’s renowned synth manufacturer Erica Synths, presents a talk and workshop. He’ll first clue us in on history of the independent instrument maker and then introduce us to, “All Methods of Sound Synthesis in Modular Set-up”, talking about subtractive, additive, FM, phase distortion, granular, and physical modelling synthesis, as well as the modules available and demonstrations of almost all of them on a Graphic VCO (or voltage controlled oscillator). Eliza Aboltina will also speak about Erica Synths’ charity project Fenestra, created with the intention to support blind and visually impaired musicians with an interest in electronic music production, as well as other projects that Erica are involved in.
