Fubbik: Mary Anne´s Polar Rig, Junodef & Kluster

Premiere of Fubbik, an initiative to promote the local alternative scene in Malmö

Fubbik is an initiative taken by the Malmö-based band Kluster and Inkonst. Fubbik wants to lift active bands in Malmö that does not necessarily have a commercial expression. The idea of Fubbik is to highlight the creative and musical diversity that exists in the city and does not always have the chance to be seen or gets the credd it deserves. Fubbik is an attempt at a collective effort to keep the local music life alive in more than just a few places. Our hopes are that the club will contribute to a generous exchange of audience and music, meetings between bands and people, which in one way or another will strengthen the local scene and all of us in our creation and listening.

Mary Anne´s Polar Rig

Mary Anne’s Polar Rig is bringing back that fuzzy-noisy-rock-n-roll-pop of the 90’s Pavement era with a new modern catchyness to it. Their pop songs embedded in loud guitars and screaming vocals will get stuck in your head, wether you wish for it or not.

The youngsters of this band are now releasing their first 7″ via Kollektivet Records, Malmö, but have already been doing wild live performances together for two years around Sweden – wearing their matching Polar-Rig overalls.”

Junodef

Returning to Malmö, Post-Rock act Junodefs unique sound draws inspiration from the likes of Chelsea Wolfe and Emma Ruth Rundle mixed with influences of Young Fathers and Massive Attack. In April they released a new single and their first ever music video – produced by an all female team. They have previously worked with illustrators and visual artists to develop new perspectives to their music and are currently working on a project focusing on the intersection between different art forms and how they influence each other.

Kluster

Kluster was formed in 2014, and has since created playful music, influenced by pop, punk, noise, lo-fi, indie and jazz. In the year 2018 a series of singles were released, which was highlighted by Line of Best Fit, HYMN, P3 and others.

Debut album civic was out on June 15th via Stockholm indie label Rama Lama Records (Steve Buscemi’s Dreamy Eyes, Delsbo Beach Club, Melby etc.) and is the labels first full-length release. The LP was recorded at Malmö’s famous Tambourine Studios and is a elegant showcase of the quintet’s exciting ability to blend experimental and accessible in their very own way.
