Jazz i Malmö: Lage Nordling Electric Ensemble (LNEE) + Amor y vida

In the world that Lage Nordling Electric Ensemble creates, concepts and ideas reign supreme over jazz, prog, and hip-hop influences. Danceable rhythmic patterns, extended harmonies, and intricate melodies are just some of the building blocks in Nordling’s work, where his new musical vision of modular composition also finds its place.

Stylistically, LNEE leans toward contemporary Western European jazz, drawing inspiration from artists like Reinier Baas, Petter Eldh, and Otis Sandsjö. The ensemble includes some of the most outstanding young improvisational musicians from the Nordic region. Together, they inject impulsive bursts into an otherwise rigid musical structure, crafting a beautiful symbiosis between composition and improvisation, the fixed and the fluid, the stone and the bubbling stream.

Lage Nordling – guitar, composition
Hannes Bennich – alt saxophone
Jesse Emmoth – synth
Anne Marte Eggen – electric bass
Mario Ochoa – drums

Amor y vida
Amor y vida sings of longing and the anxieties of love and life. Their music is at times delicate and acoustic, at times abstract and raw, as guitar, trombone, and vocals intertwine. A drive to create and an immediate sense of connection through music brought the group together to start writing songs, which will culminate in their debut album in 2024.

Alicia Panambi – vocals
Sara Danielson – guitar
Tilde Schweitzer – trombone
