Jazz i Malmö: Mirror Image

Mirror Image is a new ensemble comprised of some of the most singular voices in scandinavian jazz.

An eclectic mix, and in which inspiration from the contemporary classical field is as likely to fuse with African folk music as it is to interbreed with both the firm and loose side of the jazz idiom.

The music is for the most part composed by bassist Ole Morten Vågan, (otherwise known as artistic director for The Trondheim Jazz Orchestra) but the repertoire might on any night as likely feature hits from greats like 70´s south african expats Brotherhood of Breath as well as works by baroque composer Jean Ph. Rameau. As shown through their work with Atomic, Toumani Diabate, Team Hegdal, Bill Frisell/The Intercontinentals, Nacka Forum, Emmeluths Amoeba, Koma Saxo, Motif, Paavo mf.l. a.o., these musicians have already made their mark on the nordic and European jazz scene for a decade or two.
