In 1999, the former architect, artist, musician and composer Peter Vermeersch initiated the Flat Earth Society with an aim to explore new horizons after his adventures with legendary cult band X-Legged Sally. 

Flat Earth Society are: Marc Meeuwissen – trombone, Wim Segers – vibraphone, Michel Mast – tenor saxophone, Martí Melà – bass clarinet, Berlinde Deman – tuba, Peter Delannoye – trombone, Frederik Leroux-Roels – guitar, Kristof Roseeuw – double bass, Bruno Vansina – baritone saxophone & flute, Benjamin Boutreur – alto saxophone, Teun Verbruggen – drums, Bart Maris – trumpet, Peter Vermeersch – bass clarinet, Peter Vandenberghe – piano & keyboards, Pauline Leblond – trumpet.
