Olibanum: Lau Nau (FI) + Patch Hofweber
The Nordic's Galadriel grazing Olibanum this autumn.
CONCERT AT MALMÖ KONSTMUSEUM
If anyone has the ability to broker a lasting peace between humans, machines, and nature, it is the Finnish sound queen Lau Nau. An untainted beauty blossoms from her vocal cords and fingers – delicate yet incredibly powerful. Healing lullabies for wounded animals.Lau Nau, aka Laura Naukkarinen, is a composer and sound artist whose music is imbued with an idiosyncratic, finely honed sound world. Her musical palette consists of a modular synthesizer combined with acoustic instruments, field recordings, and, most importantly, her own voice. To date, Lau Nau has released ten albums and has been part of numerous collaborative projects. In 2023, she released two albums: “5 x 4,” recorded with the Buchla 200 synthesizer at Elektronmusikstudion in Stockholm, and “Aphrilis,” an ensemble album of songs. Lau Nau is also well known for her music for films and multi-channel sound installations. She has toured abroad for over 20 years, performing at venues such as Super Deluxe in Tokyo, The Lab & Castro Theatre in San Francisco, and Blank Forms & Issue Project Room in New York.
Visuals: Patch Hofweber will bring Skovgaardsalen’s fresco to life with the help of mapping.
The concert series Olibanum weaves together classical expressions with contemporary experimental music and is done in collaboration with the Malmö Art Museum. The concert with Lau Nau is also part of the Cultural administration’s work within the framework of the Finnish administrative area.

Olibanum is a fragrant resin that for thousands of years has been a precious and sought-after ingredient in incense – especially in ecclesiastical contexts. This so-called pure incense is believed to contribute to deeper breathing, calm, and self-esteem.
The concert is included in the entrance fee to Malmö Art Museum and Malmöhus Castle, on a first-come, first-served basis. Doors open at approximately 14:30.
