RYSK ROULETTE – PotatoPotato
A stand-up-inspired monologue about when reality surpasses poetry - when what you could not have imagined, overnight has become your reality. Life was fine. Then suddenly there was a pandemic, childhood cancer and a European war. What are the odds?!
You can put a cartridge in a revolver with a magazine for six cartridges, spin the barrel once and then fire it at your temple four times to achieve the same chance of survival as my son. But what should a mother do with that information?
Rysk Roulette is a very serious comedy show that tries to understand the world, privileges and the darkness of life through statistics and probability calculations. A personal monologue performance about when what you could not have imagined, becomes your reality overnight. In collaboration with statistician Alexander Engberg, PotatoPotato’s production group dives into understanding statistics and probability theory and tries to grasp the world through the language of statisticians. A hilarious and warm monologue performance about the worst we can imagine.

BIO
PotatoPotato is a unique, experimental and multiple award-winning performing arts collective active in Malmö for over fifteen years. PotatoPotato’s artistic vision is to create, develop and present contemporary theatre art stemming from broken production structures, in cross-genre collaborations. This is expressed by only producing original works, constantly working in new constellations of different performing artists and teaching at universities, colleges, folk high schools, in industry colleges and youth groups and presenting their works in different types of spaces. The performances are performed in Malmö and Skåne and on national and sometimes international tours.
