The Zenmenn sound as old as they sound new, as organic as they are electric, as harmonic as they are rhythmic, and their fusion of different palettes, colours, tempos and instruments offer a harmonious balance and unity that already feels like the perfect soundtrack to a better world.

As hopeful as a streak of grass in the concrete, they draw your mind towards a more zen (duh!) version of the early 2010’s style of pre-nut-job John Maus or Ariel Pink. Steadily underpinned by Japanese 90’s wave and pop aesthetics, they evoke an eerie yet homely, almost Lynch-esque ambiance.

Their 2021 release Enter The Zenmenn, released on the tastemaker Music From Memory label has already become a kind of low key classic, and was described by writer Winton Rousseau as an “experiment in harmonic convergence emerging from a deep respect for cosmic symmetry and a resistance to the prevailing Zeitgeist.”
