Inkonst

WIP – a work in progress bar

During the fall of 2020, Inkonst opens up the WIP concept once again, a stage for you to show and tell about a work in progress. Just a really nice unconditional space for anyone to inspire and get inspired by.

WIP is an experiment to increase the branch network within the local cultural life that extends beyond the individual art forms. In the wake of previous rounds of WIP, new collaborations have emerged; both between participating artists and Inkonst.

We want to encourage encounters between active artists in Malmö. At the same time give them and the audience the opportunity to have a peek inside a creative process. We want to give room for things that are nice, ugly, finished or just in the starting pits and create conditions for sustainable artistry in the city. And have a beer or a glass of wine, while we’re at it.

To wrap the whole thing together, we let Inkonst’s very own drag artist / host pro Ziggi Willpower guide you through the evenings and interview all the artists in his micro-talk show.

WIP will be on October 29 and November 26, 2020.

How does it work?
The setup for WIP is simple; the stage is yours for 10 minutes. What you choose to show is up to you. We welcome noisy soundscapes, glittery jerseys, heavy beats, skewed monologues. Simply everything that could make heads of Malmö’s active artists tick and click. Afterwards, you will be interviewed by our host Ziggi Willpower and there will be an opportunity for the audience to ask questions. We encourage everyone; both audiences and artists to open up for a conversation about the works – ask questions, comment, and inspire!

For each night we are also looking for a DJ to play before, between and after the stage performances.

The stage is approx. 4.5 x 3.3 m, a PA, projector, microphones, DJ equipment, light rig, smoke machine and sound technician.
It is also possible to use floors, walls and ceilings.
Each act has about 15 minutes of sound check before opening and it is possible to prepare things on site if needed.
NOTE: There is no backline (guitars, drum kits, amplifiers, etc.) in place.
