Welcome to celebrate 50 years with Atlas! In the fall of 1976 the current line-up of the group was established – a quintet featuring two keyboard players, guitarist, bass player and drummer. In 1979 we released the Lp “Blå vardag”, which over the years has been very well received.
”In fact, Atlas delivers the most refreshing Swedish instrumental music for a very long time.”
(Alf Kyhlén, Sala Allehanda)
As time went by the musical genre was called “symphonic rock”, “art rock”, “progressive rock”…
“Keyboard heavy band. Very melodic, very upbeat melodic prog rock. Up-tempo, uplifting. Lots of symphonic things happening all over the place. I like this a lot! A little-known gem from the Swedish rock history.”
(Pete Pardo: Forgotten Favourites, Youtube)
It was four productive years.
“They appeared, delivered something exclusively crafted and then vanished.”
(Dave, The Album Review Channel)
After that the group disbanded – but the friendship remained. We reunited in 2015. We started out afresh during the Progressive Circus 2016 festival at Slagthuset, Malmö.
At Inkonst we would like to invite you to a celebration of LIVE MUSIC in every kind of mood, together with us and Joakim Pinotti.
“Atlas’ music lives from the skilful contrast between brilliant instrumental parts and quiet romantic parts.”
(Viana Proghead, Prog Archives)
We will be performing our music from the 70s, reworked and expanded pieces and tunes from recent years.
“A must for symphonic proggers and an excellent, vibrant work for really anyone.”
(Isa, Prog Archives)
