Rasmus Alkestrand

Influenced by Indian traditional music, multi-instrumentalist Rasmus Alkestrand makes his own electronic blend of ragas, drones and beats. Free improvisation on the sitar merges with sequenced, rhythmic repetition of synths and sampled sounds – often drawing inspiration from early Krautrock, Dub Techno, Jazz and Ambient. 

Recently, he released the electronic album "Matriarch" as Triangular Waves, recorded using only the Moog Matriarch synthesizer.

Performing solo and and as a member in the noise rock quartet True Grit, dub-techno duo Kokong, experimental jazz duo Alkestrand/Pedersen, The Swedish Soundpainting Orchestra, Per Svensson Psychedelic Sounds, The New Alchemy and as the sitar player for Ebbot Lundberg.
