Sonja Tofik (b. 1994) is a composer and experimental musician based in Stockholm. Through a blend of samples, drones, field recordings, feedback, and vocals, she creates a dark sonic landscape. Her work often explores emotional and societal states and phenomena.
She released her debut EP Neuros in 2017, followed by her debut full-length album Anomi in 2020 on the Stockholm-based label Moloton. In 2021, Tofik was a musician in residence at Ina GRM in Paris, where she produced the piece Grief Scenario for their multichannel sound system. In February 2024, she released her second album Respire on Northern Electronics.
She is currently pursuing studies in electroacoustic composition at the Royal College of Music in Stockholm and is exploring harmonics through feedback as part of her artistic practice.
