Olof Runsten is a theatre director and playwright. His work is shaped by a strong audiovisual language and close collaborations with other artists. His productions are often constructed as series of images, cut together through blackouts, building meaning through accumulation. They move between suggestive situations, dread and humour in ways that are hard to predict, and his work is often described as hypnotic. Recent works includes Marthas Hus, Seasons and Bergfiktioner. His latest work, Norma Jeane Baker of Troy, written by Anne Carson, premiered at Inkonst in 2025. Olof Runsten also runs the production platform Dramageddon.
